"Information About Endo, with a Strong Emphasis On Natural and Alternative Treatments"
Endometriosis
Endometrisos is a life-altering medical condition for many who are afflicted with the disease. Recent medical studies show that it may well be a chronic Endocrine and Immune disease. Either way, it is an often debilitating disease that effects millions of women and girls worldwide. This often painful, chronic disease has no known cure and is most commonly associated with pelvic pain, and a host of other medical problems like IBS, as well as infertility. Endometriosis has many other symptoms, all of which can interfere with daily living and can be very debilitating and devastating to live with.
After 25 years of suffering with many of the effects of Endometriosis firsthand, talking with others who suffer from Endomtriosis, and participating in Endo support groups online, I have heard lots of Endo stories and read countless hours of educational materials regarding the disease.
I have found that, on the average, women suffering from Endo tend to feel alone and misunderstood, a sentiment that is regularly mentioned on Endo blogs and websites. There are several reasons why this is the case; first, the disease it's self is not completely |
understood even by doctors, and secondly the symptoms of Endometriosis are many, and vary from person to person . Most symptoms of Endo are also shared by countless other diseases, and a multitude of other health issues. This unfortunately tends to confuse a diagnoses, causing most women to wait years to be properly diagnosed. It is common for a woman with Endo to suffer for up to 10 years without being diagnosed. Meanwhile, they feel confused, scared, and misunderstood. Even worse, once diagnosed, there is often not much that can really be done; symptoms continue to plague them, often chronically, and for years, whether they choose to opt-in for standard medical treatments like laparoscopy or hysterectomy, or not.
While symptoms can vary from person to person, if you talk to enough Endo sufferers you will begin to see that most of the ones you have are common to the condition, and that you are definitely NOT alone! This holds true for difficulties with relationships, and other life problems as well. Endo can make relationships almost impossibly difficult.
There is no reason for women and girls with Endo to feel abnormal or alone; there are millions of others around the world who share the very same symptoms, and even difficulties in life, due to Endometriosis! Despite the fact that it is rarely addressed as the severe condition it so often is, the symptoms of Endometriosis and the lifestyle they so often |
force upon women are all too well known to those who suffer from the disease.
We encourage anyone who has Endo and is feeling alone in their fight, to actively visit local or online support groups, or find a caring Endo sister to talk with. This can help us to fully understand that our symptoms are not unusual, and begin to at least feel less alone in coping with the disease. Those suffering from Endometriosis may also want to visit the following websites for more information:
